Terms and Conditions
These terms explain how our website, bakery services, custom orders, catering, communications, and related services work. By using our website or placing an order with The Bakehouse Chicago, you agree to the terms below.
Using Our Website and Services
The Bakehouse Chicago is operated by Bakehouse Chicago LLC, doing business as The Bakehouse Chicago. We provide bakery products, custom cakes, pastries, savory items, catering services, wholesale offerings, coffee and beverage services, and related delivery or event coordination services.
Specific details for an order or service may be outlined in a quote, invoice, proposal, order confirmation, or individual service agreement. If any of those documents include terms that are more specific to your order, those order-specific terms will apply to that order.
Your Responsibilities
To help us serve you well, you agree to provide accurate and complete information when placing an order, requesting a quote, booking a consultation, or communicating with our team. This may include event details, delivery or pickup timing, dietary notes, allergy information, design preferences, guest counts, and any other details needed to complete your order.
You also agree to use our website and services lawfully and not for any fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful purpose.
Orders, Payments, and Deposits
Some orders or service bookings may require a deposit to confirm. Unless otherwise stated in your quote, invoice, or service agreement, payment is due according to the terms provided for your specific order.
- Deposits may be required before work begins or dates are reserved
- Final payment may be due before pickup, delivery, or completion
- Late payments may result in delays or additional fees where applicable
- Recurring or subscription-based services follow the payment terms provided for that service
- Payments are processed through secure third-party payment providers
Financial information is handled securely and is not shared for third-party marketing purposes.
Custom Work and Intellectual Property
Custom cake designs, baking formulas, catering concepts, menu recommendations, design sketches, written materials, and other work created by The Bakehouse Chicago remain our intellectual property unless we agree otherwise in writing.
Please do not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, or use our designs, materials, or content without written permission.
SMS Communications
If you provide your phone number and opt in to receive text messages, you agree that The Bakehouse Chicago may send SMS messages related to our services. These may include order confirmations, delivery or pickup updates, catering details, custom cake updates, customer inquiry responses, seasonal offers, event reminders, coffee shop promotions, or wholesale and bulk order updates.
SMS consent is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Your phone number and SMS-related information are used for communications from The Bakehouse Chicago and may only be shared with providers that help us send those messages and are required to protect that information.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Carriers may delay or fail to deliver messages, and The Bakehouse Chicago is not responsible for carrier-related delivery issues.
You can opt out by replying STOP to any SMS message from us. You may reply HELP for support, or text or call +1 (312) 626-7744.
Age Requirement
Our SMS services and related communication features are intended for individuals who are 18 years of age or older. By opting in to SMS messages, you confirm that you are at least 18 and authorized to receive those communications.
Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellations must be made in writing to info@thebakehousechicago.com. Refund eligibility may depend on the order stage, preparation completed, materials purchased, non-refundable expenses incurred, and the specific cancellation policy for your order or service agreement.
For custom orders, cancellation windows and refund terms may be different because design work, ingredients, labor, scheduling, and preparation often begin before the pickup, delivery, or event date. Approved refunds typically take 5-10 business days to process.
Limitations of Liability
We work carefully to provide professional bakery and catering services, but some circumstances are outside our control. We are not responsible for delays or issues caused by incomplete customer information, customer non-responsiveness, third-party suppliers, event complications, carriers, weather, emergencies, or other factors beyond our reasonable control.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability for damages is limited to the amount paid for the applicable service. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of our website or services.
Privacy and Third-Party Links
Your use of our services is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect personal information.
Our website may include links to third-party websites or resources. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, privacy practices, or terms of outside websites. We encourage you to review their policies before using them.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. When updates are made, we will revise the "Last updated" date on this page. Your continued use of our website or services after updates are posted means you accept the revised terms.
Governing Law

If any part of these terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining terms will continue in effect. If we do not enforce a right or provision immediately, that does not mean we waive the right to enforce it later.
